

Lurline Marion (Murphy) MacDonald - It is with deep regret that we announce the death of Lurline Marion (Murphy) MacDonald, which occurred at the Abbie J. Lane Memorial Building, QE II , Halifax on Saturday, March 19, 2011. Born on February 27, 1927, in Port Hood, Cape Breton, she was a daughter of the late John K. and Emma (Reynolds) Murphy. She was a long time resident of Rockingham and enjoyed her gardening and traveling back home to Cape Breton. She is survived by her children, Sandy, Halifax; Hugh (Linda), Trenton, NS; Margie (Alexander Gillis), Upper Margaree, NS; Barbie, Hamilton, Ontario; Jerry (Shelly), Halifax, NS; Kevin (Trudy), Halifax, NS; Cheryl (Bernie ), Halifax, NS; sisters, Myrna White, Inverary Manor, Inverness; Bernice (Sandy Chisholm), Creignish; Gwendolyn Layden, Dartmouth; brother, Bowden (Sadie), Port Hood; grandchildren, Eliott and Ella MacDonald; Paula, John, Roger and Lori MacDonald; Alex, Stephen, Patrick, John, Douglas, Matthew and Sheila Gillis; Tony, Jeffrey and Christopher Graves; Ashley, Amanda, Alyssa MacDonald and Kyle MacDonald; 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Jerome MacDonald (1993); son Paul (2007) and infant daughter Sheila Ann; sisters Mildred Nicholson; Kaye MacIsaac; brothers, Kenny Murphy and Dewey Reynolds. Visitation will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax (902) 455-0531 on Tuesday, March 22nd from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, March 23rd at 11am. Burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville.
