

McGill, Margaret “Avis”. Our mom passed away January 7, 2015, at the young age of 95. She was born in Sayabec, Quebec to William and Hattie (Irvin) Bagnell. At an early age, she moved to Truro, NS, where she resided until her marriage in 1943, to the late Don McGill of Kentville. Avis was a long time member of the KenWo Golf Course and Country Club, Glooscap Curling Club, an avid bridge player, and enjoyed painting and interior decorating. She and Dad spent 30 years wintering in Sarasota, Florida. Mom was one of the original residents of Cameron Hall and thoroughly enjoyed her time there and the friendships developed. She is survived by daughters, Donna (Gary) Illsley, Lynda (Greg) Vaughan/Mueller; grandchildren, Matthew, Jennifer, Andrew, Lesley, and Michael. Mom was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Don. GG was blessed with 5 great grandchildren. Mom is survived by sisters, Alma (Mac) Giffin, Gloria Bagnell, and brother, David Bagnell. She was predeceased by sisters, Bessie Irwin, Gertrude Fraser, Opal MacAndrew, and brothers, Jack, Jim, and Bob Bagnell. There will be a private family service at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax 902-455-0531, officiated by Father Harley Kynock. The family invites you to a reception at the Garden Pavilion in Drummond Hall, Parkland Estates, Halifax, at 12:00 pm, Monday, January 12, 2015. Special thanks to the staff of Cameron Hall and Drummond Hall for their kindness and support over the years, as well as Dr. Angela Morash and her staff. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the local charity of your choice.
