

McCurdy, Margaret (Margot) Alice – 92, of Halifax, died January 15, 2015 peacefully at home surrounded by her three children. Born in Owen Sound, Ontario, she was the daughter of the late John Douglas and Eva (Burton) MacKenzie-Naughton.
Margot was a homemaker and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a devout member of the Presbyterian Church of Saint David in Halifax and a long-serving member of the IWK Children’s Hospital Auxiliary. She loved to be part of the Painting Group as they prepared for the annual Kermesse Fun Fair. She was an avid member of the Halifax Ukulele Ensemble under the direction of J. Chalmers Doane and Joan Munro and she loved to be part of the social aspects of the Scotia Springer Club.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheila McCurdy, Wolfville NS; sons, Douglas (Geri), London ON, Ross (Grace), Halifax; step-mother-in-law Thelma McCurdy, Sydney NS, grandchildren, Kevin (Joanne), Shaune (Christine), all of London ON, Jeffrey (Arleigh), Ottawa ON, Jane, Calgary AB; great grandchildren, Jordyn, Megan, Liam, all of London ON and Madden, Zoe, all of Ottawa ON.
Predeceased by husband, David and sister, Mary.
A celebration of life service will be on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 11:00 am at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax (455-0531) followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the I W K Grace Hospital Foundation in Halifax.
