Mary Brewer

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother Mary Brewer, age 74 of Dartmouth, NS, who passed away January 19, 2018, at the Dartmouth General Hospital in the arms of her family. Born in Bay du Nord, Newfoundland, she was the daughter of Willoughby and Emily Caines.

Her greatest joy was her grandchildren, whether it be shopping with Alyssa and Alanna, always wanting Alexis’ hugs, watching Samantha play basketball and Jack play hockey. She enjoyed reading, knitting, baking, and of course, playing bingo. She was known for worrying too much about her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her only daughter, Roxanne (John) Hurd, Morris MB; sons, William “Bill” Jr., Dartmouth, Danny (Lisa Conrod), Dartmouth; sisters, Shirley Savory, NL, Rose Dominix (Randell), NL; brother, Albert Caines (Diane), Bridgewater; sisters-in-law, Alice Brewer, Blanche (Pat) Hynes, both of NL; 5 grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, William Thomas Brewer.

There will be no visitation. A Funeral Service will be held in St. Timothy’s Anglican Church, 2320 Prospect Road, Hatchet Lake, on Thursday, January 25 at 11:00 am, the Rev. Cheryl Rafuse officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

It gives us great peace knowing mom and dad are together again. Love and miss you both.
