

SANSONE (Peters), Mary Catherine – 94 of Bedford, and formerly of Hamilton, Ontario passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Glasgow Hall, Parkland at the Lakes, Dartmouth. Born and raised in L’Ardoise, Richmond County Mary was the daughter of the late Alexander and Annie (Martell) Peters. She was a long time member of the Catholic Women’s League of Canada. Mary had a passion for gardening, entertaining, decorating and travelling. She especially enjoyed hosting Sunday family dinners. She sought great pleasure in attending the many social gatherings with her friends and especially enjoyed going to dances on Saturday nights in earlier years. She loved reading and music and had a great love for animals. Mary’s greatest joy was her family. She also found great pleasure in her lifelong connection to her hometown of L’Ardoise. Mary was dedicated to quietly helping others and serving in her community. She will fondly be remembered by the many people whose lives she touched, for her kindness, generosity and sensitivity to others. Mary is survived by her sister Eva Mae Briand of Bedford, formerly of L’Ardoise; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Constant Sansone in 1980; sisters, Judith, Phyllis, Emma, Elizabeth, Annie Jane and Alvina; brothers, Thomas and Alexander.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 10 from 2 – 4 pm at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. A funeral service will be held at Saint Ignatius Catholic Church, 1288 Bedford Highway, Bedford on Friday, May 11 at 11 am, with Father Lloyd O’Neil officiating. A reception to follow at Saint Ignatius Church Hall; hosted by the Catholic Women’s League. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
