Michael Murphy

Born in Colliers, Conception Bay, NF, Mike worked for IOCC for 35 years in Labrador City before he retired to Sackville, NS. He was a pioneer cabin builder on the Ashuanipi River. His cabin door was always opened and there was a good chance you might find a drink waiting for you on the other side. He was a true Toronto Maple Leaf fan, and could educate you on any stat or game play but never actually admitted to watching a game. Mike was an avid reader, loved music, and loved to check Facebook every chance he got to get the news.

Mike is survived by his wife, Dorothy and his children, Rachael Baker (Jeff), Gerard Murphy, Sean Murphy (Angelique), Kelly Dumaresque (Kirby) and Laurie Murphy (Erica). He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Caitlynn & Mason Baker, Samuel and Cameron Murphy, Andrew & Mackenzie Dumaresque and Oliver & Maya Murphy.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12th at the JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax (902-455-0531) from 6-8 pm. Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 13th at 10 am also at JA Snow Funeral Home.
