

Michael Frederick Murphy of Halifax passed into the arms of the Lord, surrounded by the love of his family on July 29, 2018. He was born June 5, 1935, in Moncton, to parents, Clement and Julia (Donovan) Murphy, He grew up in a hair dressing environment. As a boy he started making deliveries on his bicycle then went on to become the President of OBSCO Maritimes Ltd., a wholesale beauty supply company.
Michael's amazing sense of humour served him well - as he successfully raised 8 children. He was cherished by his family who will miss his spiritual guidance, unflinching integrity, loyalty and unconditional support. He loved his church and especially enjoyed singing in the choir.
Michael was predeceased by his parents, brother Joseph (survived by wife Wendy and their children Douglas and Claire) and his sister, Sr. Patricia Murphy.
Surviving is the love of his life, his wife, Heather (Elliott), as well as sisters, Sr. Mary Alice Murphy and Eleanor (Joe) Khattar, sons, Steven (Karen), Terrance (Melinda), John Naas (Sara), Leo Naas (Marianne), "FAVOURITE" daughters, Carole Ann (Stuart) MacLean, Nancy (David) Palmer, Patty (Grant) Wade, Jodi Naas (Damon) Parachnowitsch and his grand children and great grandchildren. Michael dearly loved his grandchildren: Stephanie, Melanie, Justin, Bradley, Olivia, Caeleigh, Kerry, Donovan, Noah, Owen, Lucus, Miriam, Brooke, Jack and Skyla. As well as his great grandchildren, Aby, Noah and Aria.
Visitation will be held at J A Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive from 4-7pm on Tuesday July 31, 2018. Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Wednesday Aug 1, 2018 at 2:00pm.
