

Born in St. Andrew’s, Codroy Valley, Nfld, he was the son of Thomas and Mary O’Quinn.
Mike served 25 years as a Warrant Officer in the Royal Canadian Navy on many different ships: the Cape Scott, Lauzon, Magnificent and Bonaventure. After his retirement he spent the next 15 years working at Autoport in Dartmouth.
Survived by his wife Laura (Gay) O’Quinn, Bedford; daughters, Glenda (Bill) Robar, Bedford and Donna (Peter) Lutes, Moncton; son, Wayne (Anne Marie) O’Quinn, Lewis Lake; and sisters, Lucy (Bucky) Grenyer and Lillian Dilenthesis, USA; grandchildren , Gary (Jenn), Scott (Julie), Samantha, Bruce and Sarah and great-grandchildren, Lilah and Charlie.
He was predeceased by his father and mother Thomas and Mary O’Quinn, brothers, Pat and Andrew, and sisters, Rita, Margaret, Annie and Stella.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 24 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, with memorial service on Saturday, March 25 at 11:00 am. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or a charity of choice.
A special Thank-you for the care given to him at St. Vincent’s Nursing Home for the past 2 ½ years.
