Mike Neily

Age 42, of Halifax, passed away October 18, 2014 at the QEII Hospital after a prolonged illness. Mike faced his battle one day at a time and was lovingly supported all the way by his wife, Jessica Neily. Born Michel Gaudet, he is survived by his father, René (Peggy) Gaudet; mother, Kathy Colbert; sister, Danielle (Mike) Hillier; brother, RJ Gaudet; and nieces, Cynthia, Maddison and Mckenna Hillier.

Mike's artistic talents were diverse and included drawing, creating jewelry, and woodworking. He was known for always having the newest gadget, and enjoyed bringing his knowledge to work at Bell Aliant. His passions in life included skateboarding, music, rockin' the guitar, and of course, Ace, Dio, and Ozzy. Some may say his Harleys were his pride and joy, but Jessica is the one he always cherished most. In Mike and Jessica’s 18 years together, they were known for hosting friends and family and they enjoyed bringing people together.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mike's memory to Rockingstone Heights School or to Bide Awhile Animal Shelter. Memorial service will be held Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 2:00 pm at J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax (902-455-0531). Reception to follow.
