

Age 100 of Halifax died peacefully at home on Thursday April 9th, 2015. Born in Windsor N.S. she was the daughter of the late Albert and Laura (Haley) Brown. She was a stay at home Mom who enjoyed knitting and making a home for many boarders. She was a member of St. Andrews United Church and a long time member (80 years) of Mizpah Rebekah Lodge #5 Halifax and holds the highest honour of the Declaration of Chivalry. She was predeceased by her husband Wilfred, sister, Reta Singer and brother, James Brown. She is survived by daughters, June (Don Artz) Enfield, Pat (Allan Snow) Halifax; sons, Richard (Carol) Halifax, David Halifax; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one great step grandson and several nieces and nephews. Her Family offers a special thank you to Dr David Wood for his many home visits and compassion he showed to our Mother and to the VON nursing staff for all of their visits. Cremation has taken place under the direction of J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Visitation will be Monday, April 13th from 7-9 pm, at which time the Rebekahs will hold a brief memorial service, with funeral service taking place on Tuesday, April 14th at 11 am at Snows. Rev Trent Cleveland Thompson officiating. Donations can be made to St. Andrews United Church, Fort Massey United Church or to the Oddfellows and Rebekahs. Burial will take place in Maplewood Cemetery Windsor NS at a later date.
