Moira "Peg" Mahoney

Born in Halifax she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Bridget (Scanlan) Mahoney. Survived by sister, Monica Mahoney; brother, Tom; sister-in-law, Marie Mahoney and three generations of nieces & nephews. Moira was predeceased by brothers, Joseph, Matthew, Paul, John and Peter.

Moira, or Peggy to her friends, was an employee of the federal government for over 40 years and a devote volunteer for numerous charities and organizations.

She was committed to improving the health and welfare of others. Her friendly smile, kindness and generosity will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax on Tuesday, May 17 from 6-8 pm. Funeral mass will take place on Wednesday, May 18 at 9:00 am in Saint Mary's Cathedral Basilica, 5221 Spring Garden Road, Halifax, NS. A private family burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.

Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Hope Cottage or a charity of your choice.
