

She was the daughter of Judson Jeffery Conrad and Lillian Civilla Power. After attending business school Muriel, spent most of her career in the Human Resources, payroll department at Imperial Oil. When she retired, she got her driver’s license, driving herself and her four girlfriends around Nova Scotia to church suppers, cafes, shops, and other important destinations. She volunteered for the Canadian Cancer Society, St. John’s United Church, and was a member of the Monarchist League of Canada. Muriel travelled throughout Canada, the US, and Europe. Her lifelong passion was reading. She will be dearly missed.
Survived by her niece, Kathryn Bulow (Ron); grandnephew, Zachary Bulow; niece, Susan Tyas; nephew, Stephen Conrad. Predeceased by her brothers, Wilfred (Mildred) and Granville (Florence) Conrad.
No visitation as per request. Funeral service in the spring of 2015, date to be formalized at a later date in Fairview Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Thank you to the wonderful care on the 8.2 Halifax Infirmary and Dr. McMullin and her team. Thank you to the Berkeley Gladstone for such a warm and friendly place for her to live in the last year.
