Nina Lillian Baird

Born in Apohaqui, New Brunswick in 1915, she was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Matilda (Jones) Ellison.

Nina was a 50 year member of the Fairview Legion. She also loved to play bingo at the Forum. Nina was a kid at heart, who enjoyed dressing up at Halloween, watching parades and fireworks. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was survived by her long-time companion, Joseph Mombourquette; son Donald Laine Baird (Sandra), Halifax; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Nina was predeceased by brothers Lloyd, Heber, Victor and George and by sisters Bertha, Ruth and Dorothy.

There will be no visitation. A Legion service will be held at 1:45pm followed by a Memorial service at 2:00pm on Saturday, July 21st at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax. The Reverend Dave Dellapinna officiating. Burial will take place in the family cemetery plot in Sussex, NB at a later date.
