Patricia Anne Mason

We are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved mother, Patricia Anne Mason, 81, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 23, 2023. Born in Pictou County, N.S., she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Annie Kirk. She married the love of her life, Frederick Day Mason, on May 16, 1964, and had the pleasure of raising four children. Mom chose to stay home to raise her children until the youngest entered school, at which time she returned to work as a Nurses Aid at the IWK Hospital where she remained until her retirement. She and dad enjoyed going on many unplanned road trips to visits family and friends.

Mom is survived by her four children; daughters, Anna Jean (Scott); Lisa; Anita (Tony); and son Daniel (Natasha). Grandchildren; Samantha, Halle, Brooklyn, Chase, Eli, Olivia, Mason, and Charlee; and great-grandchildren; Attison and Noah, along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Fred, brother and sister-in law Stanley and Laura Kirk, brothers Harold Lockhart, Bob Lockhart, and sister, Mary Redding.

Cremation has taken place, and visitation will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, Lacewood Drive, Halifax, on Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 6-8pm. Funeral Services to be held at Union Presbyterian Church, 745 Marsh Rd., Thorburn, N.S. on Friday, July 28, 2023 at 2pm. Burial to follow at the Thorburn Cemetery, Marsh Rd. Please join us for a reception at the Church Hall following the service.
