Phil was born October 14, 1971 in Halifax and was the cherished son of Maxine (James) Keating and the late Austin Keating. Phil grew up in Middle Sackville and graduated from Millwood High in 1991. Phil fondly remembered his days playing high school volleyball for the Millwood Knights. Phil married his sweetheart, Bobbi, on November 8, 1997 and together they began their love story. Phil worked as a delivery and sales rep for Pepsi and later Canadian Springs; a career that allowed him to meet lots of people and make lifelong friends. Phil was an avid ballplayer; he wore #54, never missed a tournament and was just happy to be on the field with his buddies drinking cold beer and hitting a home run or two. Phil watched all sports but particularly enjoyed watching football and was a loyal Seattle Seahawks fan. Sundays were sacred from pre-game to primetime to Sunday night countdown; the living room was always full. Phil was a friend to all; he was funny and easy going and could always make you smile and laugh. Phil was a true champion; brave and courageous. His illness never defined him, it allowed him to live, love and laugh with no regrets. Phil leaves behind his caring wife and best friend; Bobbi-Lynn Keating; his loving mother Maxine (James) Keating and his best napping buddy, Rosie Cat. Phil is also survived by uncles; Merlin (Audrey) Crawford, Ross (Rene) Keating, Myles (Patsy) Keating, Forbes (Marlene) Keating, Terry (Wendy) James and Wayne (Linda) James; aunts; Audrey (late Tony) Rhys, Iris (late Carl) Champion, Frances (George) Lambert and Heather Keating; mother and father-in-law, Milton and Joyce Hubley; brother-in-law, Chris (Angela) Hubley; sister-in-law, Darlene (Rob) Crawford; nephews, Brandon, Dwayne, John and Shawn; great nephew, Carter; cousins, Aubrey, Kenny, Carol, Gail, Lynn, Cindy, Lori, Kevin, Jamie, Cathy, Christopher, Lindsay, Carrie, Ian, Graham, Amanda, Lesley and Matthew and special loving friend, Jane Clark. Phil was predeceased by his father Austin Keating; grandparents, Ross and Carrie Keating, Howard and Phyllis Oliver and uncle Howie Jr.

“No more medication charts, oxygen tubes or diseases to fight- just green grass, sunny days, Keith’s light and the Seahawks taking the Superbowl year after year. “
