

Yarn, Phoebe Blanche – 87 passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 31, 2013 with her two children, Harold (Rita) and Mary (Len Donais) at her side. Predeceased by her husband, James, Blanche will be sincerely missed by her five grandchildren, Dani, Nicole, Nick, Nathaniel and Katie. Born in Little Bay West, Newfoundland, Blanche and James married and then settled in Halifax where they raised their family. She became a dedicated member of St. John’s Anglican Church, working on the Alter Guild for many years. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and the Daughters of the Nile. Blanche’s greatest joy was spending time with her children and grand children, her pride and joy. She also enjoyed knitting, cooking and of course, dancing. After the death of her husband, Blanche moved to Cameron Hall in Parkland where she made and reconnected with many friends, participating in numerous social events. Special thanks to the staff at Parkland, the nurses and doctors at the Halifax Infirmary and to her many dear friends. A memorial service will be held at Snows Funeral Home at 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, at 1:00PM on Tuesday, February 4rd, 2013. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
