

Born in October 1929, he was a son of the late Charles & Edna (Hache) Stuart.
Bob joined the Merchant Navy at the young age of 14 and he spent five years serving his country. Bob then joined Maritime Tel. and Tel. where he retired after 36 years of loyal service.
Bob married the love of his life Betty May Whynot in 1950 and they welcomed six beautiful children to their family. Bob and Betty celebrated their 65th anniversary in February 2015. Bob and Betty enjoyed many years of travel to Barbados where they made many lifelong friends.
Bob was a 50 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 142.
Bob is survived by his wife, Betty; daughter Nancy (Dan) McNeil; sons David (Manon); Allan (MaryAnn); Alex. Bob was the proud and loving grandfather of 10 grandchildren: Robyn and Ryan McNeil; Melissa (Scot) Morris and Jonathan; Robert and Shawn; Cory and Kelly; and Nicole and Danielle. Bob adored his two great-grandchildren Phoenyx McNeil-Brown and Brooklyn Morris.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, his brother Alex, and his two sons Robert and Jimmy.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, on Wednesday, November 11 from 2:00-4:00pm. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 14 at 10:00am in the chapel of the funeral home. A reception will follow.

A private family burial will take place at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville.
