

It is with great sadness that the family of Ron Kelly announces the passing of their father.
Ron was one of five children, born in Halifax, to the late William and Pansy (Rolf) Kelly.
Ron was a veteran of World War II who bravely served his country overseas with the Cape Breton Highlanders. He married his loving wife, the late Myrtle (MacKay) Kelly, in 1948; they were married for 65 years and together had eight children. He worked for the Department of Transportation as a heavy duty mechanic for 43 years.
He is survived by daughters Wendy (Allan) Johnson and Trish (Chris) Power; sons, David (Mary), Kevin (Anne-Marie) and Greg; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and sister, Eileen LeRoux.
He was predeceased by Myrtle (2013), sons, Michael and Bruce; daughter, Mary and brothers, Clarence, Stanley and Billy.
Visitation will be held at J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, on Tuesday, November 3rd from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and a Celebration of Ron’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 4th at 11 am in J.A. Snow Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Ron’s family would like to sincerely thank the staff of 4 Eastwood of the Veterans’ Memorial Hospital for the impeccable care they provided Ron in his last year.
