Rosie Mary Mabel Forgeron, age 94 years, of Halifax passed away peacefully on August 26, 2022. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Adolph “Ken” Forgeron with whom she shared 67 years of wedded bliss. Rosie met the love of her life growing up in West Arichat, Cape Breton. Ken and Rosie moved to Halifax in 1955 where they were surrounded by many friends and family. Rosie was a proud and caring homemaker, wife, and mother. She was actively involved in the Catholic Women’s League at St. Lawrence Parish for many years where she met her lifelong friends with whom she continued to regularly play Rummoli. A deck of cards was never far from reach. She was a parishioner of Saint Benedict’s Parish in Clayton Park since its establishment. Rosie was a gifted seamstress, quilter, and knitter who also enjoyed many years of bowling and square dancing. She always had a smile for everyone and a forgiving nature. She was the social butterfly of our family, and her wit and good humour helped her make many new friends at the Pemberley in West Bedford where she lived independently and happily for the last year of her life. Rosie was a fun and loving mother who was devoted to her children Petronille “Punch” (Paul) LeMoine, Judy (Robert) Power, Derrick (Denise Harlow) Forgeron, Paula Forgeron and her husband Ian Galloway; grandchildren Renee LeMoine, Michael Power, Edward “Ted” Power (Clare), Andrew LeMoine, Brooke Forgeron, and Jacques “Jack” Forgeron, and 7 great grandchildren. Her ever-present courage and strength will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Chalice (https://www.chalice.ca). Visitation will be held at J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., August 30 from 6-8 pm. Funeral mass at Saint Benedict, 45 Radcliffe Dr. August 31, 2022 at 12:15.
