Yarn, Roy Philip, of Halifax, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2015. Born at Mose Ambrose, F.B., NFLD. He was a son of the late William Aaron and Charlotte Annie (Fiander) Yarn. He moved to Halifax in 1952. Roy attended Maritime Business College and after graduation was employed by the Federal Public Service. He retired after 32 years of service.
Roy was a member of Burns Lodge #10 AF & RM, Philae Temple and Halifax Shrine Club.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased several brothers and sisters.
Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, (902-455-0531) on Wednesday, May 20 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Philae Temple Children Travel Fund or a charity of choice.
