It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Saadallah Zakhour who passed away September 6, 2024. Born September 10, 1929, in Miniara, Lebanon, he was the son of Elias and Lamia Khalil.
He immigrated to Nova Scotia in 1980 with his family and found a home in Timberlea, Tantallon, and Chester. He spent much of his time helping with the family business “Recardos”, where he quickly became well-loved as Cecil. During his spare time, he prioritized family by visiting his children across the province and chauffeuring his grandchildren (as per his wife’s strict instructions).
Saadallah was loving, strong willed, and compassionate about family and community. His warm smile and touch have impacted many lives and will continue to live in our memories forever. In his last days, he cheerfully shared memories with his family and celebrated his life on earth. At the same time, he also emphasized his belief in the afterlife and his joy to be reunited with his loved ones.
He is survived by sons; Lutfallah (Evelyn) Zakhour and Mounzer (Roueida) Zakhour; daughter Lamia (Riad) Habib; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Josephine; brothers Lutfallah, Moufid, Naja and Raja; sisters Hassibe and Marie; and children Kyova (Tarek) Zakhour and Clark (Maha) Zakhour.
