

Born in Parakkai, India. He was the third son from a family of nine.
He studied to become a doctor in 1958 and over the years worked in General Surgery in the United Kingdom, India as well as the University of Manitoba and later at the Sick Children Hospital in Toronto, Ontario. From there, he moved to Nova Scotia where he had been a resident of Pictou County for over 34 years as their only Urologist at the Aberdeen Hospital. Once he retired in 2007, he returned to Madurai, India to work with the underprivileged at some of the local hospitals.
His passion in life was his work. He took pride in taking care of the health of his many patients through the years. He helped so many of his relatives through their times of need and we will all remember him for his generous and empathic nature.
His loving and devoted wife, Santha deceased in 2006 in New Glasgow. He is survived by his daughters, Avai (James) Kochanoff and their daughter Jaya, Halifax and Kala (Jason) McGilvray and their daughter, Kimaya, Sydney, Australia. He will be greatly missed by his many relatives and friends in India.
