Shirley was a dear friend and a long time customer of Castalia Software and Cast Microsystems Ltd. I have many of her plants that she would lovingly share, we had many a chat when she would swing by the office for nothing more than to bring me some of her beautiful flowers. When I look at them now I am always reminded of what a happy and positive person she was. I used to tell her I wanted to be just like her when I grew up, she would have a great laugh about that. We need more Shirleys in the world.  I will miss you Shirley, so sorry I missed your funeral.

I am so very sorry to hear of Shirley’s death. She was so full of life and always ready for a new adventure. Shirley accepted you as you were. She had a great sense of humour and loved a good laugh. The Murder  Mystery Book Club will not be the same without her. I am so sorry to hear of your mother's death, Jane and  Jimmy and families. Please accept my heartfelt condoleances.

Cheers to Friendship
How do you describe “ Friendship”       I describe it in one word “ Shirley”
 
Shirley has died and leaves a huge hole in many of our lives.  She was a dynamic soul who had a fearless tenacity in her approach to life.
 
I first met Shirley on a day in 1977 when the doorbell rang.  It was Avon Calling!  We were new to Bedford and she new to me.  She was so good as an Avon Lady that she earned a two week, all expense paid, corporate cruise to Hawaii.
 
She was the adventurer and I was the safe adventurer… who followed and supported her in whatever adventure she had on the go.  Over the years we shared many an adventure here, there or anywhere.  It could be driving to a picnic park that she knew of but could not find.  She had no inner magnetic compass of North-East-South or West. Shirley would charge forth with gusto and I always was a willing, well almost willing participant…as long as it was a safe adventure!  Over the years we started the first Beaver Colony in Bedford, S&E Enterprises our Maritime craft company and Mystery Book Club. We dabbled in politics. We dabbled in the stock market.  We dabbled in ideas and ideals.  We dabbled in toasting our friendship and adventures with a glass of Sherry.
We each had our own special Sherry glasses. We had fun doing it all.
 
And now I raise my Sherry glass in tribute to my friend Shirley.
She embraced her Joie De Vivre for Adventure as I embraced Safe Adventure along with her.
 
May your newest adventure Shirley… be your best ever!

Please accept my sincere condolences to you & your family on the passing of our dear Shirley.  Being a member of Book Club, we enjoyed Shirley’s quick wit & her knowledge of every book we read.  She always came in hand with the questions & the biography of the Author’s.  She enjoyed the company & was always ready to tell us stories of her Grandchildren.  She was so proud of Olivia, Evan, & Christian.
Unfortunately I will be unable to attend her Celebration of Life due to a family commitment.  Thinking  & praying for you all at this sad time.  Rest in Peace dear friend!  Best Regards, Barb Dewar

Shirley has been a true, loyal, caring friend since her days as Cub leader 46 years ago. Throughout those years we have enjoyed times in politics, road adventures, coffee and lunch dates, sharing gardening slips and tips, almost daily emails, and great Mystery Book
club conversation. She spoiled me with treats of quince jelly, tea biscuits and scones, all so delicious.  I will cherish all these wonderful memories. She cared for her friends always was there to lend a
helping hand.. My sincere condolences to Jane, Bob, Jimmie, Angie and grandchildren.
