Shirley Pauline Strong

We are saddened to announce the unexpected passing of Shirley Pauline Strong (nee Church) 89, who went to be with the Lord, August 11, 2024. Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Strong of Ontario and missed him dearly. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Stephens-Brown and grand-children Matthew, Andrew and Samantha; her sisters Ruth Berry (niece- Jane), Janice Smeltzer (Earl), nieces- Melody, Harmony, their children and nephew Darcy and her brother Neil Church. Shirley was a gentle soul with an adventurous spirit who was associated with the Salvation Army since her youth attending the Cunard Street Core and Fairview Citadel in Halifax and the Renfrew Core in Ontario. She was creative, loving the beauty of nature and blessed many with her love to sing and piano playing. Shirley retired from her administrative career working with Carleton University in Ottawa and travelled with her husband Ken before returning to Nova Scotia. Visitation will be held Friday Aug. 23 / 6-8pm. A celebration of her life will be held at JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Saturday August 24th at 2pm with a reception following.
