We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Sylvia B. Mosher of Halifax on January 8, 2023. Formally of Lunenburg, Sylvia lived a full life to the age of 90. She passed peacefully away with family by her side after a brief illness. Born December 26, 1932 in Lilydale, Lunenburg Co. She was the eldest daughter of Hildred and Everette Conrad of First South, NS.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Ronald, and sister Greta (Conrad). She is survived by her two daughters Deborah (Barry Clattenburg) and Sherrie Mosher (John Forward), Grandsons Andrew and Daniel (Amanda Donaldson), Granddaughter Angela and two Great Granddaughters Lucy and Zoe. Among her greatest joys were her grandchildren who she and dad often took on summer trips. Her greatgrandchildren always made her smile.
Throughout her life Sylvia was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She was involved in many volunteer pursuits; such as The Women’s PC Auxiliary, Halifax Police Woman’s Auxiliary and being involved with Fairview United Church. Countless pans of squares, loaves and fudge were sent for teas and sales. She was an avid bowler and was part of the Police Mixed Bowling League most of her life. She enjoyed cooking and was always ready to try new recipes. Nobody came to our home and left hungry. She shared many afternoons with her “Rummoli Gang” In later years making new friends and playing cards or bingo at the Pemberly.
Her and Ron got to travel to the Caribbean and had wonderful tales of Jamaica, Barbados, Aruba, Venezuela, Cuba, and had a special trip to Europe. Always a fan of Rummoli or a good game of cards.
Although she lived in Halifax, her heart always belonged to Lunenburg. A graveside service will be held later, where her ashes will be interred, next to her husband Ron, in the family gravesite located in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Lunenburg.
We would like to thank the staff of the Infirmary Emergency Dept. for the care and kindness they showed her during her stay. Also, a sincere thank you is extended to the staff and residents of The Pemberley, especially Lloyd Forward and Florence Minty for their kindness to Sylvia and her family during our time of loss.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
"Sweet dreams Mom. We will miss our nightly chats"
