Thomas Robert "Bob" Power

Thomas Robert Power (Bob), age 78, died peacefully in his sleep on May 17, 2015, at his home in Fairview NS. It is with deepest sympathy that we acknowledge the passing of our beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather. (Aka Poppy)

Born March, 7 1937 in Halifax NS, son of the late Bertha and Edward Power. Bob spent his earlier years working with the Bill Lynch Carnival. Bob worked with the Nova Scotia Post Office retiring after 32 years of service. Bob thoroughly enjoyed his later years working for the Westin Nova Scotian, and an active representative of the UFCW. Bob had a passion for music and spending quality time with his friends and family camping seasonally for many years at Green Acres Campground.

Surviving are his wife Patricia Power (LeFort) his children Scott (Kathy), Tracy (Tiny), Dave (Carey), Tammy (Jody); 10 grandchildren, Rebecca, Travis, Brent, Terrianne, Dustin, Meghan, Annika, Jaiden, Lacey and Logan. He is predeceased by his siblings Joe, Marie, Ronnie, Kenneth and survived by Charles Patrick (Gerry) Power; his twin sister Elizabeth. He had many nieces, nephews and in-laws including his dear friend and brother in-law Ricky LeFort who cared for him in his last few years. He will be missed dearly by his beloved companion Coco.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 22 from 7-9 pm in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 23 at 11am in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Heather Fraser officiating. Burial will follow in Oakridge Memory Gardens, Lower Sackville. Donations in memory of Bob may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation.
