

— 79, of Cambridge Street in Halifax, passed away February 24, 2010, in QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born on Cambridge Street in Halifax, he was a son of the late Frank and Rose (Neville) O'Neill. Tom was educated in Saint Mary's High School and Saint Mary's University. He was the owner of Frank M. O'Neill and Company and very active in the office supply business. He was a member of The Business Travelers Association, The Canadian Office Products Association, Gyro Club, Boy Scouts of Canada and served terms as president of these associations. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Waegwoltic Club, Halifax Curling Club, and one of the founding members of the Hubbards Yacht Club. Tom was a lifelong member of Saint Thomas Aquinas Church and a founding member of the Board of Governors of the Atlantic School of Theology. Tom was also on the Board of Governors the IWK Health Centre for 25 years and is an Honorary Life member. Tom had a great life in Nova Scotia, raising his family with Scottie in Halifax, summers at the cottage in Hubbards. He enjoyed fishing with his many friends and family, spending many wonderful times at his fishing cabin on Northeast Lake, as well as fishing trips to Newfoundland and New Brunswick. Tom is survived by his wife of 55 years, Scottie and children, Tom (Christine) of Villa Nova, Ont. and their children Caitlin, Tristan, Ariadne and Liam; John Scott (Elaine) of Ottawa and their children, William and Patrick; Judy (Tim) Mader and their children, Scott, Jeffrey and Sarah; Dan (Michele) of Halifax; Nancy of Halifax; Shaun (Carolyn) of Dartmouth; children, Sheamus and Riley and their mother Marlene; James of Calgary; sisters, Margaret and Patricia, of Halifax; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Maurice, Neville S.J., Frank. Visitation will be in J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., on Friday, February 26, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral mass will be held in Saint Thomas Aquinas Church on Saturday, February 27, at 10 a.m., Father James Mallon officiating.
