AUX SOINS DE

JA Snow Funeral Home

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Wayne Arthur Loftus of Halifax, NS, on March 17, 2026, at the Moody Hall/Shannex Long-term care facility.

Born on April 14, 1945 in Moncton, NB, Wayne was the son of the late Hubert and Elsie (Cudmore) Loftus. On October 7, 1966, he married his best friend and the love of his life, Hazel (Price).

While attending Moncton High School, he worked at the CN hump yard. In November 1966, he started his career with Canada Post Corporation as a Letter Carrier. In 1987, he moved to Lower Sackville, NS, continuing his work with Canada Post Corporation and retired as a Professional Driving Coordination Officer in 2002. He taught Defensive Driving Courses in NB and worked as a school crosswalk guard for 10 years in the Halifax area. He was a devoted adherent of Knox United Church in Lower Sackville, NS, and St. Paul's United Church in Riverview, NB.

Wayne will be remembered as a funny, caring, and generous man who loved his family more than anything. He is survived by his wife Hazel, his children Stephen and Kevin, his granddaughter Emily Baker, his sister Charlene (Loftus) Caldwell, his niece Stephanie Caldwell, his nephew Andrew Caldwell, several grandnieces and grandnephews, and his sister-in-law Anise Price. He was predeceased by his son Jason in 2010, his brothers-in-law Doug Caldwell and Henry Price, and his niece Victoria Caldwell.

The family wishes to extend a special and heartfelt thank you to the wonderful medical and support staff at Moody Hall for the exceptional care they provided during Wayne's 10-month stay as he battled dementia.

In accordance with Wayne’s wishes, there will be no viewing or funeral service. Cremation has taken place. For those who wish to honor his memory, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.

He will be missed very much by all who knew him.
