

With sadness we announce the death of Wendell Cyril Myatt, 87, at the Camp Hill Veterans Memorial Building, May 23. He was the son of Raphael and Mary Myatt of Halifax. Wendell served in the Canadian Army near the end of WW2. Later he joined the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers with many postings in Canada, as well as Egypt and Germany. He retired after 27 years of service with the rank of CWO1 (Regimental Sergeant-Major). Following this he worked for Perry Automotive in Orillia, Ont. and for Noranda Mines in Northern Ontario. Cheering on the Blue Jays was his greatest pleasure. In retirement he enjoyed some world travels and some winters in Florida. He was a member and past President of the RCEME Assn. Atlantic.
Wendell is survived by his daughter Michelle (Blackstock, Ont.), step-son Rev. Gary Myatt (Jean), step-daughter Susan Myatt, step-grandchildren Chris, Levonne, and Sean, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife Elizabeth (Beamish) and his second wife Verna (Gray), brothers Clyde and Marshall, and sisters Irene and Joan.
A Memorial Service will be held at J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax (902-455-0531), Wednesday, May 27, 1:00 pm. Reception to follow. Rev . Wilfred Boudreau officiating. There will be no visitation. Donations may be made to the Diabetes Assn. in his memory.
