William "Bill" Joseph Mitchell

MITCHELL, William (Bill) Joseph – 60, of Terence Bay, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Monday, January 31, 2011. Born and raised in Marystown, Newfoundland. He was predeceased by his parents Cornelius and Elizabeth (Power) Mitchell and sisters Mary Slaunwhite, Christina Vaters and Annie Tobin. After moving to Nova Scotia, Bill was employed by Sedpex as a crane operator for many years. He always put others before himself, helping those in need and offering support. His kind heart and giving soul touched many lives. Bill is survived by his wife Rhoda; sons Scott (Catherine) Halifax and Jason (Melissa) Ontario; grandson Braxton (Ontario); sisters Lydia King (Elam), Theresa Pike (Randell), Elizabeth Nolan; brother Ignatius Mitchell, as well as many family and friends. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, February 3rd, at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax (902) 455-0531. Funeral service will follow on February 4th, at 2 p.m. at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Shad Bay. Due to Bill’s sudden passing, the benefit being held on Friday, February 4th, at White’s Lake Legion will also be a celebration of his life. Family flowers only.
