William George Yeadon of Halifax, Nova Scotia, age 74, passed away peacefully at the QE11 on Saturday, January 23. "Bill" was a retired Dartmouth City police officer, who took great pride in his work with the department for over 25 years. There he made life long friends whom he held dear in his heart. After retiring, he was employed as a dispatcher for Unique Delivery, where no doubt he kept the office and drivers well organized.
Bill loved to play darts with the boys, and thoroughly enjoyed his weekly bowling league competitions. During his son David's younger years, Bill and his family were seasonal campers at several parks around Nova Scotia. He was a great fan of Nascar and many times visited the racetracks in the US. Bill loved to go "over the border" to pick up his turkeys and make a stop at his favourite shop, "Mardens". Anyone who knew Bill, knows how much he appreciated a good bargain. Bill was also a huge "Habs" supporter, and they pulled out a win for him on Saturday night. Bill will be deeply missed by so many, his son David (Ft. MacMurray Alberta) whom he adored, his grandson Cole who had his heart, and Cole's mom Melanie Shea (both of Dartmouth NS); his loving "little" sisters Patricia Moran (J) and Niki Harkin (Mike) both of Halifax NS; his caring sister in law Joanne Cameron (John) of Halifax NS, and his numerous nieces and nephews throughout Atlantic Canada. Bill was pre-deceased by his wife Julie nee MacDonald; his mother Helen nee Veinot and his father William Yeadon We would like to express our sincerest gratitude to the paramedics, and the attentive nurses and physicians at the QE11 emergency and 3A at the VG. Also a special thank you to the compassionate and skilled nurses on 5.2 at the Infirmary, as well as the doctors who cared for Bill. We know you did all that was humanly possible, and for that we are eternally grateful. A celebration of Bill's life will take place at Forrest Green Apartments, 211 Willett Street, on Friday, January 29 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM. Please drop by for refreshments and reflection.
