

Wilson “Bill” Parsons, born July 28, 1921, died peacefully at Camphill Veteran’s Hospital on December 28, 2013. He is survived by his daughter, Pamela Hartling (Patrick); son, Trevor Parsons (Janet); four grandchildren, Julia Grace Hartling, Olivia Joy Hartling, Claire Parsons, Christopher Parsons; sisters, Eileen MacPherson (Allister) and Georgina Pierecy; brother, Arthur Parsons (Viola), and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Jim and Georgina Effie (Durnford); wife Martha E. “Doris” (Spence) Parsons; brother, Clayton Parsons; sisters, Anne Chown and Jane Degruchy.
During his work life, Wilson served in the Royal Navy during WW2, even though dangerous were his proudest moments serving his country. Then later he worked at the Gander Airport and for 27 years for Archibald Fuels until it closed its doors at which time he worked for the remainder of his career at Esso Home Comfort.
He was for many years involved in leadership positions in Central Baptist Church and later attended and participated in Grace Chapel, both in Halifax. He lived at Northwood Assisted living for 8 years prior to becoming ill in October of this year.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, (455-0531). A private family graveside service will be held, a memorial service will be held at the Northwood Centre – Penthouse on Wednesdays, January 15, 2014, at 3:00 pm.
