

The family of Yasmine (Jessie) Ghosn regretfully announces the peaceful passing of a loving mother, sister, and grandmother (Tita) on July 21, 2013 at the age of 94 at the QEII center of Halifax surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her children John (Mirna) Ghosn, Janet (Simon) Rizcallah, Georgette (Faddoul) Faddoul, and George (Maryam) Ghosn as well as her precious grandchildren Marlisa, Joseph, Alexander, Gregory, Andre (Rachel), Danny, Diandra, Michael, Lyla, Mark, Justin, James and Jeffery. She is also survived by her siblings, Marie Metlej, Jeanette Ramia, Josephine (Rafic) Abihanna of Halifax. John Salah and Simon (Nada) Salah of Lebanon. Sisters in law Catherine, Josephine and Elaine, brother in law Farid all of Halifax. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Ghosn, whom she missed dearly everyday for 16 years. Also, her parents Isor and Shmoonie Salah, Siblings, Anthony, Theresa, Joseph, Michael and Elias. Sister in law, Lucia. Brothers in law, Elias and John. Jessie was born on January 9, 1919 in Halifax and at the age of 2 moved to Lebanon. In 1949 she returned to Halifax where she worked for several years. In 1955 she married her husband Joseph Ghosn and together they raised their family. Jessie had two important things in her life; her family and her faith in God. She loved to go to church and pray and in her later years when she was unable to go to church she would watch mass at home everyday. She also loved her family gatherings. She would always have a smile on her face especially when her children and grandchildren came to visit. Tita was always very generous with all of her grandchildren and will be missed everyday by all of her loved ones. A special thanks to all the care workers from Northwood who attended to Jessie over the past few years. General Visitations will be Tuesday July 23, 2013 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at JA Snows Funeral home, 339 Lacewood Dr. Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday July 24, 2013, 11:00 am at our Lady of Lebanon Church, 3844 Joseph Howe Dr. Burial to follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Our Lady of Lebanon Church of Halifax or any charity of choice. “Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God”
