

Bert was born February 17, 1939 in Stamford, Texas to Bertis and Minnie Walton. On October 21, 1974 he married the former Bonnie Louise Philips in Beaumont, Texas. A lover of all animals, Bert particularly enjoyed birds, both watching them in nature and caring for them as pets. He was also an avid collector and, over time, built incredible collections of marbles, coins, rare books, and so much more. Bert was pensive and artistic and enjoyed working with his hands. He often spent time whittling, drawing, and painting. However, the thing he cherished most was spending time with his family and especially his wife, whom he adored.
Bert is survived by: wife and best friend, Bonnie Walton; daughter Angela Collins and husband Keith of North Richland Hills, Texas; son Gregory Walton and wife Lana of Humble, Texas; daughter Kelli Nolen and husband Mark of Hamilton, Texas; son Bert “Thumper” Walton Jr. and wife Ramona of Hamilton, Texas; daughter Bonnie Lou Snipes and husband David of Brisbane, Australia; daughter-in-law Donna Walton of Hamilton, Texas; daughter Vicky Walton and wife Susan of Salt Lake City, Utah; daughter Carla Walton of Liberty, Texas; son Ricky Walton and wife Sherry of Liberty, Texas; and an impressive 24 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bertis and Minnie Walton, his sister Patsy Sue Walton, his son Steven Walton, and grandson Gunnar Snipes.
Bert’s sons; Keith, Greg, Mark, Bert, David, and grandsons: Payden, Weston, Braxton, Cooper, and Jakob will serve as pallbearers. His final resting place will be the Oak Wood Cemetery in Hamilton, Texas, next to his beloved grandson, Gunnar.
