
Charles Leo “Dutch” Elkins, 75, of Hamilton, Passed away December 18, 2011 in the Hamilton General Hospital surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be Wednesday December 21, 2011 at 10:00 am in the St. John’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Reich officiating. Burial will follow in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Priddy. Arrangements are with Riley Funeral home of Hamilton.
Dutch was born March 18, 1936 in Priddy, Texas to the late Mr. and Mrs. August Leon and Alwine Seider Elkins. Dutch was a former Waco Police Officer and also served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was an active member in the V.F.W and the American legion posts in Hamilton.
Dutch also worked for the Veterans Administration as a security guard. Dutch loved to Fish and spent many days casting for the lunker fish. He was a belligerent Dallas Cowboys Fan. He was a devoted Father and Grandfather and will be truly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include: His special friend, Sandra McCrobie; two sons, Charles Elkins and his wife Vickie, and Darel Elkins and his wife Sheryl. His grandchildren, Whitney, Joseph, Logan, Marissa, Mathew, Britany. His great-grandchildren, Hannalia, Casey, Avery, Dalton, and Alyssa.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Alvin Glen Elkins and his Sister, Pearl Whaley.
