Curtis Darwin Troutt

Curtis D. Troutt, of Gustine, Texas, age 88 passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023 in Hamilton Texas. He was born on February 8, 1935 in Evant, Texas to Thomas Carroll and Eva Estelle Davis Troutt. Curtis was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, and was known to his family as “Grandpa Curtis”. He graduated from Evant High School in 1953. He served in the US Army from 1956 - 1958. He spent his life traveling, playing his guitar and singing. He LOVED to sing! When he wasn’t singing he was a self-employed painter and raised cattle. He later retired from Texas Farm Bureau in Waco, Texas. After his retirement, he moved to Gustine, Texas and attended Pettit Baptist church, where he enjoyed singing and visiting with many friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Twila Stark, and husband, James Adcock, grandchildren, Anisha Philips, and husband, Kevin, Noah Stark, Lane Troutt, Lacey Troutt, and Jerrod Adcock and wife Lea and great grandchildren: Kel Philips, Kenlee Philips and Alyson Ramirez and husband Jonathon and Rylan Adcock.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll and Estelle Troutt; son, Larry Don Troutt; sister, Ovella Ruth; brother, Carroll Delton (Curly) Troutt.

Pallbearers; Randy Kroll, Shorty Grisham, Jim Gardner, John Banner, Dennis Prater, and Greyson Foddrell. Honorary pallbearers; step-sons, Rocky Adcock and Kelley Adcock.
