

Dorothy Don “Dot” Headstream Taylor, 93, of Hamilton died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at Hamilton General Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Jan. 15, 2013, at the Riley Funeral Home with Rev. Matt Hall officiating and music by Mark Taylor. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Taylor was born June 11, 1919, in West Texas, the daughter of Clarence and Helen Headstream. She was reared in Roby and had six sisters and two brothers. She attended McMurry College in Abilene and taught School in Roby. She dated Charles Taylor for five years and rode a train all the way to Massachusetts, where he was stationed in the military, to marry him on April 10, 1943. They had one daughter, Linda Sue.
She was a secretary at Hamilton Elementary and Junior High Schools for about 25 years. She also worked at City Drug for about 20 years and managed the Hamilton City Pool during the summers. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and lived most of her married life in Hamilton. She was an avid Cowboys and Mavericks fan.
She was preceded in death by her husband on July 31, 1977, her parents and sisters, Maybell, June, Jessie and Hattie Lee, and brothers, James and Clarence.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Trammell; sisters, Doris Rogers and Nell Cummings; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were John Yates, James Yates, Corey Enty, Austin Enty, Bryan Necessary and Bill Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers were Charlie Joe Nunn, Robert Lynn Cummings, Joe Don Taylor and Kenneth Taylor.
