Duella Hodo

Duella was born October 2nd, 1909 in McGirk, Texas to John T. and Solina Thorp Tubbs and lived in Evant her entire life. She was married to J.W. Hodo on January 30th, 1929 and they spent the next 58 years together before his passing in 1987. Duella was loving wife and took pride in keeping a clean home. She was an excellent cook and her Banana Pudding was famous among her family and friends. She attended the Church of Christ in Star and enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, quilting and listening to country music.

Duella is survived by her niece, Kathryn Thornton of Hurst, Texas; grand niece, Elaine Thornton of Bedford, Texas; grand nephew, James D. Thornton of Amarillo, Texas; sister in law, Edna McDonald of Evant, Texas and many good friends and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Hodo and her sisters Leona Mae Wycoff and Maurie Wall. Condolences may be left for the family at www.rileyfuneral.com.
