Services were held at St. John Lutheran Church on Sunday December 11, 2016 with Pastor Keith Reich officiating. Interment followed in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Pottsville, Texas.
Eddie was born September 30, 1955 to Charlie and Barbara Sue Barcroft Krueger. He was baptized into his faith in December 22, 1956, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pottsville Texas, late in life Eddie joined St. John Lutheran Church. He had faith in the Lord his Savior.
He attended a Lutheran Parochial School and then graduated from Mansfield High. He participated in many sports including baseball, football and track. He prided himself in excelling in everything he did. Push hard and never give up and you will always succeed.
In February 1987 he married Sharron McFarlin Pierce. He married Sharon knowing she had two children that would then become his own. He learned to be a father as they grew, he became the father he didn’t have to be. Thirteen years after they married Eddie was finally blessed with a son of his own. He was stillborn and Eddie experienced a pain like no other, the pain of losing a child. Eddie and his family became stronger and loved harder and were blessed once again with a beautiful red haired blue eyed little boy. If you were to ask him he would say he had found fulfillment in his life, from his family.
Eddie loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping, he was a cub scout leader for six years and the Scout Master for ten years, his boy scouts gave his life so much joy, frustration, but mostly pride, he being a Scout Master ended with three Eagle Scouts his oldest son, his nephew and a dear family friend. To him there was no greater joy the seeing these boys succeed in a world that sets so many up to fail. To Eddie he was contributing three great men to better the world. He coached all his youngest sons’ sports teams again to enrich the lives of the young and encourage them to be better at all times. His love of sports was a lifelong commitment every Thursday or Sunday you could hear him cussing or praising the Cowboys, his team. The years grew long and his children grew up and began having children of their own. Eddie lived and breathed for his grandchildren. His world revolved around them, he made their lives better just because they knew him. He will be remembered as pops who gave the world to his grand babies.
In every life you are only given so many chances to get it right, to do things right. He was a man who just needed one chance, he always did the right thing even if it made him unpopular. Eddie was a man that lived with intent and focus, he was focused on the future and intended to make it better. This world was and is a better place because he left his impact on so many. He loved many and was loved by many Eddie passed knowing his life was full, knowing he did his best and knowing he had no regrets. He love hard and never met a stranger. His life, his memory will continue to live through every person whose life, he touched.
