

Edith Evelyn Golightly Locke passed away July 24, 2013 at Hamilton Texas. She was born in Clariette, Texas on January 27, 1915 to George Burl Golightly and Ola Plemmons Golightly. She attended schools in Hico and DeLeon where she graduated from High School. She attended TCU and studied piano and organ developing talents she used for the entertainment of many for 90 years. In 1934 she married Thomas Ruel Locke Sr. in Deleon. She worked in her family Drug Store business during World War 2 and taught music. In 1952 her family moved to Hamilton where she continued her musical pursuits teaching many children and playing for the Central Christian Church and First Presbyterian Church.
She played for services every Sunday for over 50 years in Hamilton. In addition she played at the Pecan Street Café at Hidden Valley, and at the Hen House Restaurant Since 2005 she entertained the residents of Dove Hill playing for exercise periods and on Sunday Church services. She was avid bridge player and enjoyed the domino games. She was active in the management of her Real Estate and Ranching interests.
She was an 80 year member of the Eastern Star, a member of the TCU former students Association, and a member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
She is survived by her son Thomas R. (Tom) Locke Jr. and wife Marion of Austin, her daughter Kay Locke Kinsey and husband Mickey of San Antonio, her granddaughters Keely Lee Locke of Austin, Kemberly Locke Payton and husband Dan of Olathe, Ks., Jessica Kinsey Baldwin and husband Nathan of San Antonio, Natalie Kinsey Schroeder and husband James of San Antonio. Great grandchildren Bailey Lynn Payton, Tucker Baldwin, Travis Baldwin, and Tyler Baldwin of San Antonio. Kinsey Schroeder and Maelie Schroeder of San Antonio. And many friends and admirers.
Visitation will be held Friday July 26, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Riley Funeral Home. Service will be held Saturday July 27, 2013 at 10:00 am at Riley Funeral Home Chapel in Hamilton Texas. Memorial can be made to the Charity of your choice.
