Elsie Gay Sommerfeld

Elsie Gay Sommerfeld, a beloved mother, loving spouse, and devoted grandmother, passed away on August 23, 2024, at the age of 80. Born on September 16,1943 in Douglas, Arizona to James Edgar Kuykendall and Ruby K. Reynolds Kuykendall. Elsie lived a life marked by her unwavering love for her family and her boundless compassion for others.

Elsie is survived by her cherished husband, Joe, and her three daughters, Liz, Tess (Gary), and Aime (Patrick). She was also a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren, Brance, Kelsie, Grace, Justice, Aurora, Sophia, and Rowan.

Elsie will fondly be remembered for her nurturing spirit and generous heart.

Her legacy of kindness and dedication will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A Celebration of Life to honor her will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Nicki Covers the Cold or Camp Sweeny in Elsie’s memory.
