Evelyn Maryett Whitmire

Evelyn Maryett Whitmire, 88, of Hamilton died Tuesday, September 15, 2015 in Hamilton. Funeral Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on September 18, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church in Hamilton Texas with burial following in the Oakwood Cemetery.

On Saturday, July 23, 1927 in Hamilton, Texas, Evelyn was born to Ollie and Lora Cook Thompson. She grew up in the Hamilton County area and on Wednesday, November 21, 1973 she married Cletis Ray Whitmire in Seminole, TX. Evelyn was a member of the Washington Street Baptist Church in Stephenville. Mrs. Whitmire was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and a true friend to many.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband on November 4, 1996. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother Billy Frank Thompson, sisters Ruth McCreary and Mary McCurdy, grandchildren Eli Jones, David Jones, Chance Jones, great grandchildren McKenzie Price and Clint Rice and son in law Larry Curry.

Evelyn is survived by her three daughters Linda Curry of Hamilton, Brenda Schrank and husband Jim of Hamilton, and Connie Jones and husband David of Proctor, and son Jack Massingill of Hamilton; grandchildren Lisa Johnson and husband Bob of De Leon, Lance Curry of Hamilton, Rick Price of Gatesville, Darren Price of Dallas, Gina Poe and husband Derek of Hamilton, Jody Lawson and wife Holly of Hamilton and Jennifer Thompson of Ft Worth; great grandchildren Stephanie Lively and husband James, Kaci Bain and husband Joe, Brandon Burkeen and wife Joni, Cheyenne Curry, Shaden Curry, Tyler Rrice, Coltyn Price and wife Ashley, Denver Poe Averi Poe, Ace Jones and Miles Thompson; She is also survived by thirteen great great grandchildren and one sister Mavis Martin.
