
on February 28, 2011. He was born December 14th, 1936 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to
Otto Wilhelm Feierabend and Esther Bertha Johnna (nee) Dorow.
John was raised in Milwaukee and Chicago and educated at Milwaukee Lutheran High School,
Concordia junior College-Ft. Wayne, Ind. & Concordia Theological Seminary- Springfield, Illinois,
graduating in 1961 whereupon he entered the parish ministry of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.
He served parishes in Wisconsin, Nebraska, Washington, Idaho and Texas. In addition to
parish ministry, he served a total of 18 years as Lutheran Contact Pastor for the Armed Forces
Commission of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod at McChord AFB, Madigan Army Medical
Center, Ft. Lewis- Washington; and Laughlin AFB- Del Rio, Texas. At the end of January 2002,
he retired from the full time active parish ministry.
On October 11th, 1985, John and Sue Bell Armstrong were united in marriage at St. Paul's Lutheran
Church- Aleman, Texas. John was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sue A. Feierabend;
one brother, James; two sons Karl Martin and Bradley John. He is survived by family and friends;
Mark, Mike and Alan Armstrong of Hamilton and Godley, Texas; a daughter, Anne Marie of Seattle,
Washington and a son Justin Ross and his family of Seattle, Washington, plus other relatives and
friends both in Wisconsin and Texas.
John will be laid to rest, commended to GOD, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Aleman, Texas.
A memorial service is planned as St. John Lutheran Church, Hamilton, Texas.
