John William Loden, 66 of Hamilton, peacefully passed away in Waco with family by his side. John was born August 10, 1954 in Blyth California to Zena Maude Whistler and Jimmy Morris Loden. John lived most of his life in Evant, Texas before moving to Hamilton where he resided with his wife, Reta. He had a love of fishing, hunting, and gardening; especially growing his peppers. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Reta Loden; one son, Sam McGee of Hamilton; two daughters: Amanda Loden Easterling and spouse Daryl of Ketchikan, Alaska and Michelle Gray of Hamilton; 8 grandchildren: Bobby, Addy, Jazmine and husband Peyton, Candace, Emily, Lilly, Sadie and Aubrey; 3 Great Grandchildren: Melanie, Braelynn, Ziliah and one on the way (Alaia Rain). He is also survived by his siblings: Jim Edwards, Bert Cole and husband Dickie, Anna Bell; and by many nieces, nephews and other extended family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister and several other family members. Johnny Bill was a wonderful, hardworking man loved by so many and will be greatly missed.

I remember how jumpy Johnny Bill used to be. When I was a kid a lot of our parents would all get together on the weekends at Gene's for barbecue, memory making, music, etc... Everyone would always give Johnny Bill heck...lol goosing him, playing jokes on him, you name it. There is one specific thing I can remember about him and that was his laugh...he laughed a lot...Rest In Peace Johnny Bill

I have so many memories of Uncle Johnny Bill. My childhood would not have been the same without all the heart filled pranks & laughter that he continuously stirred. Now he a grandmother can stir fun together in heaven. ❤️

Johnny Bill and I were cousins-in-law. He and Rita welcomed me into the family as if we were related for all our lives. At our last visit to Hamilton, he invited me to drive his precious, hot car, and directed me out to a deserted 2 lane road, encouraging me to "get it on". I drove faster than I'd ever driven before in my life, while he sat next to me with a big grin, and I scared myself into slowing down. He never batted an eye. Next, he invited my wife (Cousin Dotty) to do the same thing, and they both had a ball - I think they hit a higher speed than I did, and Johnny loved it. Such a wonderful memory, among many others, of a wonderful, talented man.

We started school in the fall of 1959 together in Evant. I guess we have been friends ever since. I really don’t have the words to tell the family how much I feel for them. He will be missed greatly. Rest In Peace Johnny Bill.
