On August 28, 1944, Ossie Ray Roberts Scott was one of eleven children born to Claude and Cora Roberts in Belton, Texas. She married Ealon Scott on January 28, 1960 and their first child, Victor was born in December of 1960. In October of 1968 a second child, Rodger was born. Later she became Mawmaw with six grandchildren and four great grandchildren, which she dearly loved. Ossie was one of the kindest and most caring people you would have ever meet. Her smile could melt your heart. As a young mother she worked tireless nights at the Hamilton General Hospital, so she could care for her family during the day while sleeping a little between breakfast and lunch then a short nap after dinner before heading off to work. Later she went to cosmetology school fulfilling her dream of operating her own beauty shop. After retiring she continued to cut and style hair at the local nursing and funeral homes. Ossie enjoyed push mowing her yard and caring for her many beautiful flowers, her yard was always neat and pretty.
Ossie was baptized at the age of ten by Brother Duck of the Baptist Church in Cranfills Gap. She was baptized a second time by Travis Phillips on January 17, 2017 in the Church of Christ in Hamilton, Texas. Ossie was an inspiration to everyone, a true Christian woman. She was a once in a lifetime type of person, Her love and kindness for others was unmatched. Her Family was very important to her and she loved them all dearly.
Ossie is survived by her husband Ealon; sons; Victor and girlfriend Melissa, Rodger and girlfriend Marti; grandchildren: Chris McDaniel and wife Becky; Justin Scott and wife Amy; Emily Scott, Lane Scott and wife Lauren; Rylie Purcell-Scott, Austin Purcell-Scott. She also has great grandchildren: Avery Scott, Hunter Scott, Amelia Scott, and Charleigh Scott. She is also survived by brothers: Raymond Roberts, Doyle Roberts and wife Ima Jean, Earnest Roberts and wife Gaynelle; and sisters: Leona Simons, Lorene Burleson, Polly Stepp and boyfriend Joe Tatum, and Linda Yates.
Her parents and three brothers: Amos, Ed, and Billy Roberts are all waiting in Heaven to greet her. Ossie gained her wings April 4, 2023.
Her funeral will be Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at Riley Funeral Home Chapel in Hamilton, Texas. Ossie will be laid to rest following the service at Cranfills Gap Cemetery in Cranfills Gap, Texas. A visitation for friends and family will be held Friday, April 7, 2023 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Riley Funeral Home in Hamilton, Texas.
