Ray Hernandez, 39, of Dublin, passed away on July 26th at Harris Methodist Hospital in Ft. Worth, Texas.
A celebration of Ray’s life will be held at 2:00 on July 1st at Cottonwood Church in Dublin, Texas.
Ray was born in Comanche, Texas to Cruz and Maria Hernandez on November 8, 1976. He attended school in Lometa and graduated from DeLeon High School. He met and fell in love with Jana Lynn O’Donald, and they were married in the Japanese Botanical Gardens in Ft. Worth. Ray attended Ranger Jr. College while working to support himself. He worked in the oil industry for many years and was very passionate about his work. Ray was a member of Cottonwood Church where he served as a Spanish translator. He was also involved in numerous athletic events with his son, Aidan. They shared a passion and love for many sports. Ray also deeply loved and was adored by his nieces and nephews, and always brought smiles and laughter whenever he was around.
Ray is survived by his wife, Jana and his 11-year-old son, Aidan; mother in law, Joyce O’Donald; sister in law, DeShae Ashley and husband, Greg; brother in law, Brandon O’Donald and wife, Carla; his siblings, Domingo “Jr” Moreno and his wife, Paula, George Moreno and wife, Susie, Don Moreno and wife, Gloria, Jesse Moreno, John Hernandez and wife, April, Michael Moreno, Mary Jane Felan and husband, Jim, Christina Hernandez and husband, Refugio, Helen and husband Johnny, Elizabeth Meier and husband, Jud, Candice Fritcher Welch and husband, Ben, Sylvia Kauk and husband, Lyndon, Eva ___, Kim, Vickie, Becky and a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
A celebration of Ray’s life will be held 2 PM on Friday, July 1st at Cottonwood Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Fritcher officiating. Burial will follow at Cottonwood Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, from 12:30 until 2 PM prior to the service.
In keeping with Ray’s loving and generous spirit, it was his decision to donate life so that others may live. He was known as a giving person and even in death, his giving continues as his donation of organs and tissues will touch many lives.
Pallbearers will be Gabriel Anguiano, Manuel Hernandez, Albert Hernandez, Scott Hooper, Craig Scoville, Chuck Gilliand, Brad Stanford and Chris Martin.
Memorials may be given to Cottonwood Church.
