

Sue Koonce Cunningham, 57, lost her long and courageous battle with cancer Monday, March 23, 2015.
Mrs. Cunningham was born on May 1, 1957 in Kirkland, Washington, to Gene and Wanda Koonce.
She graduated from S.R. Butler High school in Huntsville, Alabama, in 1975, and was married to Donald Cunningham, with whom she had three wonderful children. Being a child and spouse of the military, she got to travel to many countries and cities, which was one of her favorite things to do, but Texas was always what she called home.
She enjoyed genealogy, reading and spending time with all her grandchildren and many hobbies. While a single mother of three she supported the family by working at TDCJ Beto 1 and Gurney unit while she was also a full time student continuing her education graduating from Tarleton State University in May 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in Science, and majored in Psychology.
She is preceded in death by her father.
Survivors include her mother, Wanda Koonce; three children and their families, Donald and wife Lacy Cunningham and their son Malachi Cunningham, Janine Cunningham and her two children, Alexis Williams and Mercedez Kunze, and J.D. Cunningham and wife Kelly Cunningham and their daughter Hannah Cunningham; brothers and sisters, Ronnie Koonce of Forney, James (Bo) Koonce and wife Tammy of Clyde, Ginger Koonce Bottlinger of Hamilton, and Patricia Koonce Dodson and husband Harvey Dodson of Comanche; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins with family from coast to coast.
She will truly be missed and always hold a special place in the hearts of all who knew her.
