Verlin Irene Conner

V. B. and Callie Stanford. Verlin married Clifford Conner on April 22, 1946.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Conner, a sister, Delores Stanford and her parents, V. B. and Callie Stanford. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Vickie Conner of Palestine, Texas, daughter, Betty Robinson of Waxahachie, Texas; three grandsons, Charles Michael Conner, Jerrod Robinson and Adam Robinson. Verlin is also survived by a great grandson, Travis Clifford Conner.

After Clifford’s death in 1984, Verlin moved to Red Oak, Texas where she lived for 26 years. She worked for many years in the Red Oak Community and volunteered in several organizations. During this time, Verlin took great pride in celebrating the lives of her three grandsons. She was an avid and creative gardener and was eager to celebrate the seasons with her flowers.

Verlin was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Hamilton. She was the Children’s ministry Director for many years and was eager to volunteer. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Red Oak and also volunteered with the Waxahachie Methodist Women’s African ministry.

Interment will be in Hamilton, Texas, Sunday, July 21, 2013. Graveside Services under direction of Riley Funeral Home will be held Sunday, July 21, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery. The visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., July 21 at the Riley Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers and in honor of Verlin, memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Hamilton.
