Bernice T. Szura Zwinklis

Bernice T. Zwinklis (nee Szura), age 95, of Hammond, IN passed away Sunday, December 8, 2013. She is survived by her seven grandchildren: Kevin (Cathy Cosentino) Gray who was her caregiver; Veronica (Rick) Kauchak, Brian (Susan) Gray, Michael Gray, Renee (Jimmy) Holmes, Roger and Allen Zwinklis Jr.; two sisters: Flo and Joanne; 13 great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; many nieces and nephews; dear friend, Dorothy Dukes; and many good neighbors. Mrs. Zwinklis was preceded in death by her husband, John “Duke” Zwinklis; daughter, Beverly Gray; and son, Allen Zwinklis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. DIRECTLY at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 3428 165th St., Hammond, IN with Fr. Larry Kew officiating. Entombment will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family Tuesday, December 10, 2013 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Rd. (two blocks south of Ridge Rd.), Highland, IN. Mrs. Zwinklis was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church of Hammond. She enjoyed cruises, the casinos, camping, bingo, and loved her scratch off tickets.
