Cecil A. Knight

Cecil A. Knight, age 86, of Highland, formerly of Kentucky passed away March 25, 2010. He is survived by his loving wife: Ima of 59 years: loving children: Anita(Curt) Martinson of Orland Park, IL, Dolores(Craig) Pratt of Crown Point, IN, and Danny(Pam) Knight of Munster, IN; loving grandchildren: Rebecca Martinson, Steven Martinson, Laura(Todd) Maberry, Rachel Pratt, Sarah(Joshua) Lowe, Leah(Jeris) Grandlienard, Mark Knight, John Knight, and loving great grandson: Isaac Lowe. Also surviving are his two brothers: Loran Knight of Highland and Julian Knight of Greenville, KY, brother-in-law: Eurie Jarvis of Hobart , and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Basil and Ettie, brother: Uliss, sister: Lucille, and granddaughter: Emily. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 29, 2010 at 9:30 AM at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Rd.(2 blocks south of Ridge Rd.), Highland, IN, with Pastor Jeffrey Hannon, officiating. Interment at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Sunday, March 28, 2010 from 2-8 PM at Kuiper Funeral Home. Cecil was retired from LTV Steel with 36 years of service. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II and was a veteran of the Civil Conservation Corps. Cecil attended Hessville Baptist Church. He loved to tell jokes, play checkers, and drive his 1930 Model A around Highland.
